Kia hora te manno
Kia whakapapa paumamu te moana
Kia tere te Karohirohi

May the calm be widespread
May the sea glisten like the greenstone
And may the glimmer of summer dance across your pathways

Pots and Planters 2005

I started my large blue pot out with a palm, Maiden Hair fern, and a couple of Hostas.

By the end of the season I had pulled the Palm, added a Begonia with lovely white flowers and the plant with the variegated leaves. I lost the label for the variegated plant, so don't know what the name of the plant is, but I will look for it at the garden center to plant in 2006. By the end of the season it had trailed down over the edge of the pot and looked quite beautiful against the midnight blue of the pot.

A few of the planters and pots by the front entrance, early on in the season. The wooden planters are very old and look it, they will need some repairs before replanting them in 2006.
The ferns and coleus are doing well here in the shade.

Some of the geraniums, alyssum, and one pot of strawberries on the front deck. The front deck has to be replaced sometime soon. We replaced the old cedar roof on the house with a new metal one last year, so the deck will have to wait it's turn.
