Kia hora te manno Kia whakapapa paumamu te moana Kia tere te Karohirohi
May the calm be widespread May the sea glisten like the greenstone And may the glimmer of summer dance across your pathways

Flicker, Flicker, Flicker
I have a suet feeder set up right outside my kitchen window, and yesterday when I was working on a project on the table, I noticed a flicker enjoying the suet. As I watched out of the corner of my eye, the flicker seemed unconcerned about my nearness, but as soon as I picked up my camera and turned towards the window to take photos, then he became wary.
Shall I stay or go?
You are getting too close to the window!
Now I am very nervous!
HERE is a web site, well worth exploring for more information on this very handsome bird, the Northern flicker.
I just bought suet but wasn't sure when to put it out. I will get mine out there ASAP. The downy woodpeckers are attracted to it in my neighborhood. Great pictures of the FLicker!
great shots. I get flickers passing through my yard in the spring. I'm always afraid I'll miss them. I'm not sure where they go, but they sure don't stay here.
Hi Jennifer. What wonderful images. I think they are such a pretty bird. Last year was the first time I had ever saw one and I almost missed it because I casually looked out the window and thought it was another Mourning Dove until I really saw the spots.
Hi Jennifer, these are fantastic photos of the Flicker! I have them here sometimes but so far, haven't seen any this fall. One time I had a male & female at the same time. It's always interesting to watch them, whether they're eating or just grazing along the ground.
That is a cool looking bird, and I love the expressions on it! I don't know if we have those, but I want to get some suet this winter and see if any of the local woodpeckers feed on it.
You sure are a softy when it comes to those rabbits!

So close up! What great photos you got! I have to put my bird feeders up for the winter now that we put the garden to bed.

What a wonderful photo opportunity! And right near your kitcheb table. I am jealous!
Hugs, Gail
Love it's spots!
What a great photo of the bird and the countryside.
Fabulous photography!!! What a gorgeous bird - I've never seen one before, it looks so elegent even if it was nervous ;)

Nice photos, so close and vivid. Inspires me to get our bird feeders set up for the winter. Our suet usually attracts chickadees and woodpeckers.
I love flickers - great photos!

Very nice photo! I like your bird feeder, and you get a nice location too.
