Often times I stop and ask myself why I do things a certain way, or why I like particular flowers and plants. I dawned on me sometime ago, that I follow my Mothers likes, especially when it comes to garden plants. My Mum always had an abundance of what she called Polyanthus, (a hybrid primrose, Primula polyantha. ) I wish she could see all the beautiful primroses which are available now. Anyhow, last evening I was checking out the gardens, and had not looked at the little front garden for a week or so, and was delighted to find one of my new primroses in full bloom.
A mound of gorgeous double white flowers of an English double. Isn't she a beauty?
None of my other Primroses have an abundance of flowers like this one.

I went back through my photos from last year to show you a few more from my collection.
I think I can safely say I am passionate about collecting primroses.
Sorry about the quality of the collage, but when I resize it to fit, it gets fuzzy

Quote of the day
In my garden there is a large place for sentiment. My garden of flowers is also my garden of thoughts and dreams. The thoughts grow as freely as the flowers, and the dreams are as beautiful.

I have planted primrose direct into my borders from seed this year. I love them too, and hope they "take off" Lovely pics! ~Brooke
Those are some great primroses!
KeeWee~~ That is one fine primrose. I've never seen a double so pristine and full of bloom. And it's in the ground so it's been successfully wintering over. Not an easy task considering our dry summers. Kudos to you my friend.
Love the quote. I'm always dreaming in the garden. Who needs Xanax when you've got a garden. :)
What beautiful Primroses, love the double blooming one.
I love the white one, and the primabellas are new to my garden this year. I love the long stems.
Your primroses are so pretty. I just sent for some Gold Laced primula seeds. Have you any of these red with yellow centers and yellow leaf edges? I saw them in a large basket at a funeral home and they were beautiful.
I have an absolutely beautiful Primula denticulata in flower at the moment! Love it to bits!!
I've noticed a lot of love for the primrose, and it's not been something that's ever really occurred to me to appreciate. How funny. I think I'll have to check them out.
Lovely picture! I love the mound of white.
The primroses look beautiful! I never had any particular interest in primroses, but have been to a couple of talks about them recently, including one about how to breed new varieties. This has all made me much more aware of them! I had not realized they we all so different.
I'm a fan of the primroses and primula family .. .alway nice to see them in the garden ....

I've never seen a primrose like that, how lovely. I love the white flowers, and what a nice way to honor your mother's gardening favorites.
Really really beautiful, Keewee! My primroses are blooming now too...one week you check, nothing..then it's full of blooms! I have to find that double white one!
