It is a cold windy day, and not comfortable to be out in my vegetable garden.
So I am content to plant seeds in peat pots on my kitchen table. Two days ago, I planted, tomato, lettuce, Swiss chard, celery, Brussels sprouts, and bell pepper seeds. Today I planted spinach, broccoli, kohlrabi and basil. The plastic tented trays of peat pots, sit on my kitchen table, right in front of a large window, and a smaller side window, through which we get the sun from about 10 am on. Last year I used the same method and the plants did very well until it was time to plant them in the garden.

A great plan for today since it's now snowing! Is it snowing where you are?
I think I will get some more seeds started today as well. Good luck with yours :)
So did the seedlings want to stay indoors closer to their guardian? Sheltered from wind and rain and slugs? Can't say I blame them. I got outside for a while today but I've been in now for a half hour and my butt is still cold. I guess the snow is coming...lovely! :)
I hope the weather gets nicer, and everything grows well. Have fun! I need to get some things inside to put some seeds in.
Hello KeeWee
Thanks for leaving a comment on my blog.
It is still too early for me to start the veggies inside (last frost end of May), but today I am going to start some perennials from seeds as my very first sown inside this year. As you may have noticed on my blog, I did some winter sowing this year too.
Love the Hellebores too!
Hi Keewee, I use the same method for seeds and just about the same veggies as you! My brussels sprouts did not produce much last year but it was a cool plant to try..good luck with all your babies!

KeeWee,
Thanks for paying us a visit! I'm happy to say our cold days are finally passing. We should be planting seeds right now too. Do you think it's better to direct plant or germinate them in peat first?--Randy
Hello KeeWee - thanks for your comment on my blog and for the link in your sidebar. Both are much appreciated :) We have had similar weather here, so today I have been sowing lettuces and salad leaves in the greenhouse coat on and with the door firmly shut :)
