Yesterday I picked all these luscious berries, and all from the runners planted just last year, which I pinned into pots for planting out later on. If you want to save money, you can very easily do the same. I see no sense in wasting all the lovely runners the strawberry plants send out, so I will be doing the same again this year too.Now to make some shortcakes and whip the cream.

Oh, yum! My everbearing berries haven't yet begun giving me enough to make shortcake, which just happens to be my favorite dessert.
