All slugs and snail invited.
I have never has so many slugs and snails in my garden. All there because of the unusually cool wet weather we have had. I have used slug bait ( non toxic to birds and animals) but ran out, and there was a bottle of beer (years old) in the cupboard. We will see if the slimy ones, care that the beer is outdated.

nope. they don't care..
Jennifer I love the title of your post. Hey, I'll send some of mine or better yet I get a bottle of beer :)
I can't wait to see if they take the bait. ;) They are bad this year, worse than ever before, and my Black Seeded Simpson remains riveted, but beginning to bolt. Wonder what they will eat next.
I've been thinking of doing this. My lettuce has been hit bad. Didn't get the copper tape this spring that was on my list. Beer sounds very doable right now.
Good for you! I'll tell my slugs that they are invited to your party too! I do the same, but there are so many slugs, I can't put beer everywhere. So, I use more cruel method...
Oh they will love it despite being out of date! They've never said no to it in my garden.
I tried that and it worked ok but I don't do it anymore. I found that it made the beer taste strange.
Jennifer,
Hope you get most of them.
Here outside it is like walking into a toaster oven (mid 90s) the past several weeks. Slugs are still eating our baby basil plants :(
Try oatmeal. I heard the slugs eat it and it expands and kills them, they eat it like candy too!
Oh may goodness your new header is to die for!
Just as well that is old beer you're using I wouldn't dare waste good stuff on 'the enemy'! Hope it works for you and at least they'll die happy, singing shanty songs and telling eachother in slurred words 'i love you mate'. :)
this is so funny - we die for snails (but not slugs) in crete; maybe if we could get them drunk, we'd entice them much more easily into our pots!
