How can you resist those big brown eyes and gentle face, but I can tell you, I was ready to chase this handsome young fellow off, if he made a move towards my flower garden, which is about ten feet away.
So far he has been happy to eat the plums which have been falling off, and knocked off the trees by the crows, starlings and other birds.
At times I would see birds in the plums trees, and rabbits and deer underneath enjoying the bounty.

Wow, that is a cute face. But not cute when he eats your flowers. Good thing the plums are there to distract him.

Keewee, as one who understands New Zealand things, why do you think it is that deer are such a pest in US domestic gardens? It has always intrigued me to read of the constant problem gardening folk all over the US seem to encounter with these animals, when here in NZ, although there are thousands of deer in the mountains, they never seem to come anywhere near residential areas. Is it a different species of deer? Is there a different fencing culture? Do people tend to live closer to the bush? It would be interesting to know your thoughts.
