A lesson learned

So, where did I go wrong? The poor wee Rubine Brussels sprouts are only the size of small marbles.
I did a little research on growing them, and it may be that they needed more manure/compost. I am still learning how much food, water and sun veggies require for a bumper crop.
Does anyone have some advise/secrets on growing Brussels sprouts?

Well, I guess a lesson will be learned once you find out what happened with them... Its a shame how they ended, and I don’t have any advice. It looks like they didn’t have any water for long time...

Hi! I LOVE your header with the birds, that is great! As for B-Sprouts, they were a total failure in our neighborhood mega-garden last year, and this year we shant even plant any. They produced only a bumper crop of aphids. Not sure why they went so wrong! The cabbage and broccoli, rutabaga, etc all were fantastic but the Brussels just went nowhere. So obviously I'm no help!! Have a great day - Bonnie

They need a very firm soil around them ...Too fryable soil and they don't do well .....

And yes - lots of compost ..

I grew them for the first time starting last year. I think because I add compost and a chicken manure to the bed each year, that must have helped??
