Well at least the first part of the project. The tree stump had to be removed from beside the concrete steps, and a new garden will go along side the deck.
Hmmm! what's the best way to tackle removing the stump, without breaking the concrete steps. The deck doesn't matter as it is falling apart anyhow, and will be replaced.
Little by little the stump was removed, without any damage to the steps.
Team work here.
Our friend picks up the pieces of stump and roots and places them into the bucket of the backhoe, which my honey Mr C. drives to the burn pile.
It is good to have a friend who is very good at manoeuvring the large pieces of machinery with such precision.
The stump and a lot of old vegetation which was growing beside the deck, has been removed, and there is all the lovely cleared land for what else, but a garden.
This project is going to have to be put on hold until I finish the new garden I am working on, on the far side of the house.

Yippee, I love big machines!
And new gardens! What is the light like where you are planting? Is it going to be full sun now? That would be nice.

Keewee ... my goodnes no wonder you feel overwhelmed girl ... this is a lot of activity and so many things on the go .. you need a break ! This will be much more fun to plan and work on if you have rested up instead of trying to do too many things at one .. I bet it is going to be beautiful no matter when you get to it !
I am eager to see what will be growing on what used to be an old stump.... Cheers, ~ bangchik
Rosey Pollen, the garden will have all of the afternoon sun, so I have endless choices on what to grow there when the garden beds are created.
I can't wait to see what you plant there. With afternoon sun you'll have so many things to choose from. I'm sure it will beautiful! -Jackie
It is great to have room to bring in the big machine as it would takes ages of backbreaking work to complete otherwise. A whole new project to plan!
Wow, what a big accomplishment. Now it will be ready whenever you are. and you are so sweet to save that baby bunny. I think I would have done that too ~ I can't stand the thought of anything suffering.
Don't you just love the anticipation of a new garden?
I wish I had that much (flat) land :O)

Nice work with the back hoe. My nephew would have paid money to be there watching.
