Kia hora te manno
Kia whakapapa paumamu te moana
Kia tere te Karohirohi

May the calm be widespread
May the sea glisten like the greenstone
And may the glimmer of summer dance across your pathways

Keewee to the rescue

From inside the house I could hear the cheep, cheep of a young bird, so I grabbed my camera and went out to see if I could discover what was wrong. I found this young Robin, obviously recently having left the nest, trapped inside the netting I surround my garden to keep the rabbits out. Poor wee thing was distressed at not being able to find it's way out, so I gently encouraged it to hop toward a small gap in the fence, where it could get through. You could almost hear a sigh of relief from the youngster as it made it's escape through the gap. Then shortly after, mother was feeding worms to a much happier young robin.

Please let me out of here

Mommy where are you?

Please don't hurt me

Don't you just love these intimate encounters with nature? Especially when we can nurture something so vulnerable and frightened. Bless your heart.
