I had a lot of fun with our resident squirrel, but I don't think the squirrel was amused as I was.
As I passed by the kitchen window I noticed said creature, let's name it Sajiv, meaning lively, about ready to climb into the bird feeder. I tapped on the window and Sajiv ran up into the tree, so I stood where Sajiv would not see me, waiting for him to come back down.When he cautiously came creeping down the tree towards the feeder, I would once again tap on the window. *chuckle* He would freeze in his tracks and you could almost read his mind, "will I run or stay?" he decided to scuttle off again.
Sajiv, giving me the 'is she serious, look' before streaking up into the high branches of the tree once again.
Sheesh! can't you leave me alone?I knew I would get tired of the game before Sajiv, and I did, so I finally left the poor wee thing alone to eat.

You make me laugh. I was thinking about how you give the rabbits food, and then make it so hard for the squirrels. Our rabbits are eating lots of things, in fact they are more destructive than usual, but they don't seem to be eating the daylilies.

I've seen squirrels taunting and playing with dogs and cats. If any animal deserves someone else toying with it, it is definitely a squirrel.
OMGosh Jennifer, this is too funny. It's funny they always win out in the end but they are fun to mess with. Everytime they come on the porch I open the door and let the JRT's do their work!! Great blog and thanks.
Our squirrels are aggressive. They dug holes in the roof of our garage and have been going into our gutters. Bad squirrels!
you have an amazing array of creatures in your garden - the most i know of these animals are what i have seen of them in pictures!
