to Primula pulverulenta.
When I found this particular Primula at the nursery, I knew I had to have it for my collection. Little did I know just how spectacular it would be.Primula pulverulenta's flowers are candelabra style and the tall stalks are powdered white.
When I planted this specimen it was about 14 inches tall.
It is now 25 inches tall, and looks as though it may get taller, and has three tiers of flowers up the stem.
With their long stems, they are the perfect plant to place at the rear of my Primrose Garden.
Of course, I had to have this gorgeous pink Primula to keep the purple/carmine one company. I will be keeping a sharp eye out for more of these beauties.

ReplyDeleteOh, I think I'm in love now too. That is a gorgeous primula. I love so many of the plants in that family but I don't have any of the candlelabras (sp?). I would have bought it in an instant too!!!

ReplyDeleteKeewee, just how many different types of primulas do you have? The candleabra one is very unusual and so pretty!
ReplyDeleteRainGardener, it has been blooming for three weeks, and now has the fouth tier of flowers, so it may bloom for a couple more weeks yet.
