I do love the ornamental grasses for this reason. They're such a great foil for other flowering plants and I love the plumes that just blow in the wind for months. This fall, I'm expecting a pink muhly grass that I hope will be a nice background in my little perennial garden.Wendyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04232693432045335251noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-25414751.post-83510276069335687962009-09-03T12:36:22.769-07:002009-09-03T12:36:22.769-07:00i am loving the size and color of those pots. I'm trying to hold onto summer as long as I can. The days keep getting shorter and shorter, though.Corner Gardener Suehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10631500918579405664noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-25414751.post-59958296627750177292009-08-29T00:03:58.406-07:002009-08-29T00:03:58.406-07:00the grasses would look good ...remind you of nz pe...the grasses would look good ...remind you of nz perhaps :O)And as Grace has noted about hebes you could keep the nz theme going :O)

Ddinziehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15852756851793074290noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-25414751.post-49407754283319053042009-08-28T22:28:13.095-07:002009-08-28T22:28:13.095-07:00Hi Jennifer~~ You know, ornamental grasses work gr...Hi Jennifer~~ You know, ornamental grasses work great in containers. Maybe a chocolate colored Carex to add a harmonizing color and contrasting texture? ... Just a thought. I do love your choices. Kale is beautiful but I've never grown it.

Great minds think alike. I put together a winter container ensemble yesterday. Heucherella, Hebe, Loropetalum and trailing wire vine.
