Go find your dinner elsewhere
As I sat at my computer, I could hear the alarm call of a bird outside. I looked out the window scanning all the trees and ground searching for the predator, and soon saw a hawk perched on a limb of the old willow tree. As I looked through the branches at the bird, I could see it was eating something and soon noticed the dangling legs of a poor wee bird. Yes I know hawks have to eat too, but I would rather they go some place else to catch their dinner, and leave all my birds and critters alone.

We've had many red-tailed hawks circling the greater area with lot's of alarm calls going off. Sometimes the circle of life is cruel, guess I should put up more bird houses! :)

Nature can be so cruel. A beautiful bird, but a predator, indeed. I hope he'll find his dinner somewhere else from now on.
ReplyDeleteI know how you feel, hawks are gorgeous, but I'm too civilized to want to watch them eat.
ReplyDeleteI agree with you. I know every creature has to eat, I just don't want to see it. I even feel sorry for the worms our robins pull out of the ground.
ReplyDeleteI do SO understand how you feel, Jennifer! It's the same way here...although I have never actually seen a hawk eat a bird. I've seen feathers though, left behind, so I know it happens from time to time...and I always feel sad. But alas, it is the circle of life. I'm with you though...I don't want my little bird visitors being sacrificed!
