Winter craft project is on the way

Early this morning I took a picture of the gourd blossoms.

This afternoon, the blossom had faded to reveal a teeny tiny gourd. I hope to successfully dry, decorate, and perhaps make bird houses out of the gourds, during the long cold dreary winter months.

  1. Good luck on the gourds. They are on the way to become pretty and nice soon.

Jennifer~~ The flowers are exotic and tropical looking--very ornamental in their own right. I hope to see the finished product next winter!

  6. My dried gourds are still sitting in the basement(from last year) waiting for me to create something nice. Maybe we should each do something this winter and show our results.

  7. What fun! We had a birdhouse gourd last year that I used for fall decoration. I threw it out as winter came.... at least I thought I threw it out but my hubby pulled it from the garbage and dried it all winter long. He took it out the other day to surprise me. I thought how sweet of him. Now I'll have to figure out how to decorate it. -Jackie
